Job Title: SC2 Data Analyst
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports to SC2 Implementation Manager
Background:
Chicago CRED is a mission driven organization working to achieve transformational reduction in violence in Chicago. CRED does its work by offering direct services to those who are at the highest risk of violence, advocating for policy reform to increase public investment into community violence interventions, and promoting cross-sector coordination to achieve maximum impact.
Scaling Community Violence Intervention for a Safer Chicago, or SC2, is a growing
community of donors and anti-violence practitioners committed to working together to
advance one of the most promising near-term impact approaches, community
violence intervention (CVI). Their goal is fully resourced, locally-led, at-scale CVI
efforts in the 20 communities with the highest levels of gun violence.
At this early stage, SC2 is a strategy of the Partnership for Safe and Peaceful
Communities (PSPC), a coalition of more than 50 foundations and other philanthropic
entities. It also is a commitment of the Civic Committee of the Commercial Club of
Chicago, the city’s premier business-led organization concerned with the strength,
vitality, and growth of the city and the region. SC2 is supported Chicago CRED and Metropolitan Peace Initiative, the SC2 Implementation Partner. Representatives of these
latter organizations will engage with counterparts in the most-effected communities to
gauge interest and readiness to work at greater scale and share information about
effective tools and practices.
The goal is to grow SC2 to include, at “one table,” all the private, philanthropic,
community, and public leaders and funders, CVI practitioners, and other community-
based organizations needed to support, participate in, and sustain a shared plan to
significantly reduce gun violence in the 20 communities.
