Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee structural engineering aspects for project design and documentation.
- Mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Schedule and lead project review meetings with Discipline Director to finalize key engineering decisions before document issuance at project milestones.
- Provide regular project status updates to senior engineers or group leaders.
- Develop and maintain cutting-edge design skills through self-study, seminars, and ongoing education.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Develop and implement Structural Work Plans for specific projects, reviewing them with project managers and leaders at project outset.
- Create conceptual designs and evaluate appropriate structural systems.
- Conduct code research and establish design criteria for projects.
- Design and oversee specific projects, coordinating with project team members for documentation.
- Ensure project design and production adhere to budgets and schedules.
- Review construction cost estimates at critical project stages.
- Identify and address project issues that could impact budget or schedule.
- Conduct site visits and oversee construction administration.
- Uphold standards of discipline leadership, quality, and work ethic for supporting staff.
- Review and verify work performed by junior colleagues.
- Apply strong technical knowledge to solve engineering challenges.
- Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a Structural Concentration or Architectural Engineering, PE registration in at least one state, and 8+ years of experience.
