The Quality Heath Safety Manager (QHSE Manager) is responsible for the complete quality inspection functions as required by company, Quality Control Manual for all current and future products manufactured by company. Responsible to ensure all weldments meet applicable codes, standards, engineering and customer requirements. The QHSE is also responsible to ensure compliance with Welder’s qualifications are met, all Safety training and certification in order to maintain a safe shop that produces a top-quality product.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Timely visual and dimensional inspection of products
• Ensure fabrication of products meets the requirements of all standards including ASME, ISO, customer specs and Quality Management System (QMS) procedures,
• Adhering to quality programs and ensuring project specifications are met • Verification of various NDE methods, RT, UT, MT, PT
• Assembly of quality inspection documentation
• Timely reporting and communication
• Tracking of all safety incidents and training docs to ensure compliance
• Understanding of fabricated products, specifications, and applicable codes • Mentoring other employees by training, demonstrating, and discussions of QC methods
• Auditing and measuring performance
• Perform welder audits
• Interact well with purchasing, engineering and manufacturing personnel
• Foster strong relationships with customer representatives and authorized inspectors
• Coordinate 3rd party inspection services as required
• Develop procedures and processes necessary to ensure quality manufactured products
• Devising ways to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods
• Keeping accurate documentation
• OSHA knowledge and understanding of employee safety
• Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
• Technical degree or certificate from two year college is preferred
• AWS/CWI preferred
• Ability to lead the safety meetings and serve as an expert on
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the inspection of pressure vessels and non-code fabricated components
• Proficient computer knowledge with Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe and Pro-Write required
• Ability to read, understand and articulate fabrication drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, weld procedures, schedules and other QA/QC documents
• Strong understanding of ANSI/ASME B31.3 and ASME Sec VIII and IX and ISO
• Ability to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment
• Ability to meet stringent deadlines, follow up on commitments and action
• Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively
• Effective verbal, written and presentation skills
• Self-motivated and team player a must
