Manufacturing Engineering Manager
The incumbent oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes, maintenance processes and tool shop processes (if applicable). A team of advanced manufacturing engineers, project engineers, production engineers, maintenance engineers and tooling engineers are supporting the fulfillment of tasks.
Your Challenge:
- Plan required budgets and human resources in area of responsibility
- Establish and maintain exchange with global manufacturing engineering
- Ensure that latest knowledge in industry and best practices in companies are applied
- Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes on group level
- Close collaboration with R&D to ensure design for manufacturing
- Apply latest technology from related industry to ensure competitiveness
- Ensure the appropriate balance between automation and manual production processes
- Support continuous improvement for new and existing processes to ensure competitiveness of production costs
- Ensure that engineering, maintenance and tool shop team and other manufacturing departments are working together cohesively
- Ensure with Operation and Supply Chain Management required access to plant equipment for new product introduction (tuning, pre-series and training phases) and maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with HSE legislation; apply policies and processes; provide healthy, safe and environmentally friendly workplaces and state-of-the-art production processes and infrastructure.
- Apply adequate protection and emergency concepts based on continuously updated risk assessments
- Ensure that all relevant internal and external norms and standards (e.g. ISO/IATF) are applied
- Contribute to improvement of plant carbon footprint
- Willingness to travel
Your Profile:
Required:
- University degree in Industrial Engineering or similar / comparable educational background
- Min 5 years’ experience in automotive industry
Skills:
- Fluent in written and oral English communication preferred
- Relevant IT tools (MS Office, SAP PP, MES etc.)
Technical & Functional Competencies:
- Required
- Familiar with required production processes and working processes
- Knowledge in applying IATF 16949, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Leadership Skills
- Application of Lean Principles
