Eleven Recruiting is hiring a Director of Quality Engineering to join one of our top Aerospace Manufacturing clients sitting onsite in Commerce, CA. This role will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the organization's quality assurance and control functions across all operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that products meet and exceed stringent industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001-2015, AS9100 Rev D, and Nadcap certifications. The Quality Director will drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and product reliability. This position is critical in shaping the company's reputation for superior quality and customer satisfaction across multiple industries.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001-2015, AS9100 Rev D, and Nadcap standards. Ensure all processes align with MSI's policies and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing quality assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Drive initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce process variability using KPIs to monitor and improve performance.
- Schedule and review internal and external audits to identify, document, and correct non-compliance issues. Ensure MSI's adherence to industry standards and customer requirements.
- Act as the primary contact for quality-related customer inquiries and audits. Manage supplier quality through audits and develop strategies to address supplier-related quality issues.
- Oversee the investigation of quality issues using root cause analysis. Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and present performance reports to senior executives, including KPIs, trend analysis, and long-term strategies for quality improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field required.
- Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager preferred; Six Sigma Blackbelt certification is strongly desired.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in quality management, preferably in aerospace manufacturing, with at least 7 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of implementing and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with ISO 9001-2015, AS9100 Rev D, and Nadcap standards.
- Proven leadership ability to inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality team, driving accountability and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in using various problem-solving methodologies and tools to develop effective corrective and preventive actions that enhance overall product quality and reliability.
- Strong executive presence with excellent communication skills, essential for presenting complex quality data and improvement strategies to senior executives and customers.
- Ability to set a clear vision and develop long-term strategies for the quality department, aligning departmental goals with organizational objectives.
