As a Boiler Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of laundry industrial boilers. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, repair, and inspect industrial laundry machine boilers and related equipment, ensuring that they meet regulatory standards and function optimally. By utilizing your technical expertise and troubleshooting skills, you will contribute to the smooth operation of boiler systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring the continuous supply of steam or hot water. This role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Boiler Engineer Responsibilities:
- Install and commission new boilers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on boilers and related laundry equipment to identify and address potential issues.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions or breakdowns in boiler systems, such as leaks, faulty valves, or pressure irregularities.
- Order necessary parts and supplies, and assist in the installation of new equipment.
- Perform regular cleaning and servicing of boilers to remove scale, sediment, and other debris that may affect performance.
- Monitor and adjust boiler controls, fuel consumption, and water levels to optimize efficiency and minimize energy wastage.
- Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Test boiler safety devices, such as pressure switches, relief valves, and flame safeguards, to ensure proper functioning.
- Tests boiler water for corrosive deposits and treats the water with chemicals to prevent buildup.
- Maintains low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
- Contacts supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on all boilers in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to coordinate repairs and shutdowns, ensuring minimal disruption and downtime to operations.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in boiler technology to recommend improvements or upgrades to existing systems.
- Foster a culture of safety by following all relevant safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting safe work practices.
- Provide training to staff on proper equipment use.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Develop, maintain, and implement maintenance schedules.
- Make sure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operation and maintenance.

Education and Experience:
- Engineering Degree preferred
- Technical/vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers.
- Valid state boiler operator license.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to inspect and repair boilers.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds at a time.
