Global Chemical Manufacturing company is looking for a Process Engineer to join their team.
This role will be the first hire in a new Engineering Department as the company looks to modernize and automate a plant as it prepares to double production to over 10,000 Metric tons in the next 5 years.
Plans for $10 Million in Capital Projects over the next few years.
This is a great opportunity to take the lead on identifying, selecting, and managing process improvement and capital expense projects.
Responsibilities:
This role will have 3 main priorities – Current expertise in all 3 areas is not required. 2 out of 3 is preferred
1. Operational Excellence
- Identify areas of opportunity for process improvement
- Select the most impactful projects for completion
- Determine the best course of action, labor process changes, equipment selection, automation, etc.
- Manage the project from inception to completion
2. Evaluate automation opportunities
- Consider automation projects
- Identify software and technology for future proofing
- Work closely with vendors
- Manage project implementations
3. Capital Project Management
- Manage projects from $5,000-$500,000
- Work closely with subcontractors and vendors
- Work closely with the maintenance team
- Successfully manage projects from concept to go live.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering
- 5+ years relevant plant/manufacturing experience in a similar role.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or other similar methodical process improvement experience is preferred.
- Must be self motivated and able to operate without significant oversight.
- Strong organization skills are important to effectively manage the wide range of responsibilities.
- The employee must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in person and in writing.
