The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating electronic components, parts, or integrated circuits for electronic equipment and hardware systems.
Salary: Up to $150k + 10% Bonus + Equity + Full Healthcare
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of system architectures for next-generation ESS and mobility products.
- Take responsibility for electrical subsystems, including component selection, simulation and testing, PCB layout and assembly, and product specification.
- Gather data from various experiments, electrical testing, and analytical evaluations.
- Perform root cause and failure analysis using analytical techniques and tools.
- Participate in developing detailed product and subsystem specifications based on system-level design, operation, and control requirements.
- Develop test engineering and validation plans to ensure proper implementation.
- Assist with regulatory compliance testing and validation.
- Participate in feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Maintain product documentation (drawings and specifications) and lessons learned, including producing design reports, test reports, operating manuals, and test procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to define the technology roadmap for current and future products.
- Support prototype system builds to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Construct circuits on breadboards to test new electrical circuitry.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related degree.
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in electrical system design, or five (5) years with demonstrated experience in developing a product from concept to production on a multidisciplinary project with complex systems.
- Experience with product design processes, validation testing, and documentation.
- Proficient in electrical design best practices, including circuit design, component selection, circuit protection, and PCB layout.
- Skilled in reading schematics and using electrical hardware design tools for analysis, simulation, and engineering calculations.
- Strong communication skills, capable of presenting highly technical test data concisely to internal and external stakeholders, as well as communicating effectively with suppliers.
