Responsibilities
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident rates, trends, and recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability
- Provide training and education on safety topics, including hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to workplace safety
- Safety Manager needs experience in dredging, concrete work, demolition, blasting, and excavations
- Experience in building structures and similar projects upwards of $40 million
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing safety programs on large construction projects including pipeline projects
- OSHA 30
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams
