Director of Dining Services Responsibilities:
- Interviews and hires prospective co-workers.
- Responsible for continuing education and training of staff.
- Coaches and mentors co-workers on a daily basis.
- Evaluates all co-workers in department by conducting performance reviews.
- Manages activities of department, including purchasing, inventory par levels, portion control, menu requirements, budget requirements, and maintaining above average scores on QMI's and mock surveys.
- Provides residents with a dining experience that meets or exceeds their expectations.
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen related equipment, including preventative maintenance and keeping a pleasant dining room atmosphere.
- Maintains temperature logs, daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning charts, and costing sheets to keep track of other department's need for food and supplies.
Director of Dining Services Requirements:
- At least 3 years in the foodservice industry in a supervisory role.
- High School diploma or GED preferred (culinary or hospitality degree preferred).
- Serve Safe Certified or be willing to complete the National Serv Safe Course within six months.
- Knowledge of how to manage a budget and complete a par inventory, and ordering procedures.
- Knowledge of computerized menu and ordering software.
- Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
