Position Overview: As the Director of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our manufacturing processes to ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and innovation. You will lead a team of engineers and work closely with cross-functional departments to drive manufacturing excellence and support the company's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Process Optimization:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes and systems to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
- Identify and implement best practices, lean manufacturing principles, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Project Management:
- Manage and coordinate engineering projects related to new product introductions, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet all quality and safety standards.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with product development, quality assurance, supply chain, and other departments to align manufacturing processes with product requirements and business objectives.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to report on project progress, resolve issues, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Innovation & Technology:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in manufacturing engineering.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to manufacturing processes and workplace safety.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to safety guidelines and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role within the automotive industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams and managing complex manufacturing projects.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and technologies, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in project management and engineering software tools.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or similar are highly desirable.
