Join IAC, a 35-year-old industry leader in EPC contracting, capital equipment supply, OEM, and parts and service, based in Overland Park, KS. As an Industrial Burner Field Service Technician, you will be a key player in projects ranging from $10 million to $150 million across North America, Latin America, and Mexico. Your role will encompass electrical estimating, engineering, construction, commissioning, project management, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols on-site.
- Perform field service on industrial burner systems including mechanical installation, wiring, commissioning, and tuning.
- Conduct safety tests on burner systems and components.
- Measure airflows, pressures, voltages/currents, and temperatures.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components.
- Perform routine maintenance.
- Generate and manage documentation such as safety test reports, service reports, SOPs, and training materials.
- Communicate effectively with remote support specialists.
- Identify and implement optimization opportunities for customer production processes.
- Verify and red-line engineering drawings (electrical and P&ID).
Requirements:
- Logical problem-solving skills with good memory retention.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of leading and training in a niche trade.
- Excellent presentation, written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in reading and understanding electrical control schematics.
- Willingness to travel (50-75%) and work on-site for several weeks at a time.
- Ability to work in hot and cold, physically demanding environments.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with industrial process equipment.
- General mechanical knowledge and skills (e.g., plumbing, bolt/nut sizing, drilling, tapping, removing corroded components).
- Fundamental understanding of and experience with electricity (AC/DC voltage, current, resistance, grounding, induction).
- Basic understanding of industrial control components (PLCs, relays, contactors, timers, switches, motors, solenoids, valves, circuit protection).
- Computer proficiency (MS Office, AutoCad, Adobe Acrobat, PLC programming).
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent field experience) in Maintenance, Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or Electrical Technology.
- Ability to work under pressure, self-direct, exercise good business judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.
