We are looking for a Staff Motion Planning Engineer, remote in the US, to become part of an AI company developing cutting-edge self-driving technology.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop motion planning software and algorithms, creating the core system for decision-making in dynamic, uncertain, and interactive traffic scenarios.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Research Scientists using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale.
- Participate in technical and architecture discussions, collaborating with researchers and engineers to build a reliable autonomy stack for self-driving vehicles.
Qualifications:
- MS/PhD or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of industry experience in Computer Science, Robotics, or similar technical fields.
- Experience in planning/decision-making approaches (e.g., optimal control, optimization-based approaches, search methods, probabilistic decision making).
- Production-quality coding skills in Python or C++.
- Strong problem-solving skills using linear algebra, geometry, statistics, and probability.
- Ability to rapidly prototype and test new algorithms.
- Open-minded and collaborative team player with a willingness to help others.
- Ability to maintain progress towards long-term goals while working on short-term problems.
- Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving complex problems, and creating innovative solutions.
Bonus/Nice to Have:
- Experience working in the self-driving field.
- Experience in optimization.
