Job Summary:
The Director of Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the litho & digital print manufacturing, die cutting, special finishing, and direct mail processes across multiple sites. This role ensures that all manufacturing operations meet or exceed company performance expectations in terms of quality, efficiency, and output. The Director will drive continuous improvement, manage resources across different locations, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, while aligning with company's business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations across multiple manufacturing sites, covering lithographic and digital printing, die cutting, special finishing, and direct mail production.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality across all manufacturing locations.
- Establish and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing workflow and resource utilization across all sites.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Procurement, and Sales to ensure alignment of production goals and deliverables across different locations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance production output and operational excellence across the organization.
- Monitor and control budgets, operating expenses, and capital investments in the manufacturing department across all sites.
- Ensure consistency and standardization of processes and procedures across all manufacturing sites.
- Implement and uphold safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees across locations.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements to maintain a competitive edge across multiple sites.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork at all locations.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with all company and industry certifications and regulatory standards at each site.
- Report on key performance metrics, including production efficiency, downtime, waste reduction, and product quality across sites.
- Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production machinery and processes to minimize downtime at all facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with specific expertise in lithographic printing, digital print manufacturing, die cutting, and special finishing.
- Proven leadership experience in managing manufacturing teams across multiple sites, with a track record of driving operational improvements.
- Strong knowledge of direct mail production processes and industry standards.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies for process improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software systems and tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in packaging or printing industries.
- Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Strong understanding of automation and cutting-edge manufacturing technologies.
