Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager with a strong background in transmission and substation projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing all phases of project execution, from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, and closeout. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical transmission systems, substations, project management methodologies, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Manage all aspects of project execution, ensuring that objectives are met within the agreed timeframe and budget.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address issues and minimize delays.
- Budget & Cost Control:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation and financial forecasting.
- Track and control project expenses, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Technical Oversight:
- Oversee design and engineering activities, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, contractors, and support staff.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- PMP Certification or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience managing large-scale transmission and substation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and financial management tools.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of transmission and substation design, construction, and operations.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NESC, IEEE, NERC).
- Proficiency in risk management, contract negotiation, and change management.
