The Assistant Project Superintendent is part of the Company's Operations Team, assisting the Superintendent and Project Manager in the supervision of construction at project sites. This position serves an essential role to support the overall operations team and is an integral part of the company's overall success.
The Assistant Project Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent in directing all field operations at a specific project site. It is his or her duty to assure the manpower and material requirements of the project are satisfied, to properly schedule the work activities, to ensure a safe working environment and to be the gatekeeper of quality. Some specific duties of the Assistant Project Superintendent are stated below.
- Support the project team and report to Project Superintendent.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the project plans, specifications and contract requirements.
- Plan and schedule the work in advance and regularly review the plan with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager (PM).
- Comply with all safety requirements, including OSHA and Collage's Safety Policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Operations Team in developing and submitting Requests for Information that need to be sent to the architect or owner.
- Supervise and instruct field staff as directed by the Project Superintendent.
- Understand the intent and content of the Owner Agreement, all subcontracts and purchase orders and ensure that the work is being performed in an acceptable manner.
- Assist the Project Superintendent to ensure that the subcontractors are maintaining adequate manpower, equipment and materials to execute the work in accordance with the schedule requirements.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in conducting weekly job progress meetings and safety meetings.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in preparing Daily Construction Reports.
- Assist the Project Superintendent in maintaining an inspection log for the inspection authority responsible for code compliance. Ensure permit cards are signed off by inspectors.
- Assist the Project Superintendent to ensure tests and inspections are being performed and maintain a log of same.
- Assist the Project Superintendent with all project closeout requirements, maintaining all required "as-built" sets of project documents, maintaining punch lists and directing work to assure on-time completion of closeout and punch list items.
- Perform tasks and support logistics efforts as needed for the proper coordination of trade contractors.
