We're currently seeking an ERP Technical Analyst for a leading industrial equipment manufacturer in Franklin Park, IL. You will play a vital role in evaluating and implementing new technologies, designing and developing processes, leading developers, and supporting existing systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant computer science field required.
- 10+ years of strong proficiency in writing and testing RPG code.
- RPG (Report Program Generator) is a high-level programming language used primarily for business applications on IBM's midrange systems, including the IBM i (formerly known as AS/400, iSeries, and System i)
- Infor XA - Enterprise Integrator would be a huge plus!
- .NET experience is a plus.
- Experience providing support for IBMi Power 9 and interfaced applications to ensure efficient, uninterrupted operation.
- Experience developing detailed work plans for design, construction, and implementation phases of application development projects.
Responsibilities:
- Researching and presenting new technologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste, developing and enforcing best practices and programming standards, and defining requirements for new application enhancements.
- Collaborate with users to understand requirements and develop designs, create work plans for application development projects, and write specifications for application enhancements.
- Conduct unit, system, and user testing, support IBMi Power 9 and interfaced applications for uninterrupted operation, oversee application troubleshooting and problem resolution, and analyze and debug daily production problems.
- Providing user training, managing conversion and implementation processes, and offering IBMi Query or SQL design/debugging support.
- Maintain technical skills through annual seminars and literature, identify and share training opportunities for staff, assist in organizing departmental management structures for optimal operations, and work off-hours to install software and troubleshoot issues.
- Support IBMi Power 9 and interfaced applications to ensure efficient, uninterrupted operation of the systems.
- Oversee application troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Analyze and debug daily production problems and support other users.
- Identify and share training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
