Scientist, Formulation/Drug Delivery | Advanced Manufacturing in Life Science
Summary: AcousticaBio is proud to announce this unique opportunity to join our company as Scientist, Formulation/Drug Delivery. AcousticaBio is an innovative deep-tech startup; we’re a venture and NIH-funded Harvard spin-out and 2021 MassChallenge winner. AcousticaBio is an advanced manufacturing company solving the greatest challenges in the delivery of novel therapeutics. Its proprietary Harvard-patented technology revolutionizes fluid processing at the microscale and it is particularly well suited for processing stem cells and monoclonal antibodies, overcoming the limitations of the current state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. For its beachhead market, AcousticaBio aims at improving the clinical care of millions of patients by reformulating existing intravenously-delivered biologic products into subcutaneous injections, disrupting a $150B market. Patients would then have the ability to self-administer their life-saving medication in the comfort of their home with reduced pain and discomfort, and without long, costly hospital visits.
The Scientist will work closely with the CEO founder and leadership team, and they will have full exposure to the internal and external development of our proprietary platform. With a focus on an interdisciplinary team, we believe that true change comes at the intersection of different fields.

● Co-lead the design, development, and successful implementation of novel polymer/proteins formulations by leveraging the acoustophoretic printing platform.
● Lead the design and implementation of in vitro and in vivo experiments, and perform analytical techniques.
● Support the design, development, and implementation of a novel, proprietary microparticle production platform.
● Lead technical interactions with customers, pharmaceutical companies, and experts in the field.

● At least 4 years of wet-lab experience.
● At least 3 years of experience with analytical techniques to characterize proteins, such as size exclusion chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, ELISA, etc.
● Experience with microparticle-based drug delivery, protein formulations, hydrogel-based systems, fabrications of microfluidics/microparticle manufacturing systems.
● Strong communication and people skills, preferably in a leadership capacity.
● Proven scientific writing skills, with a good record of publications and grants.
● A hands-on, get-things-done mindset.
● Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
● Experience with rapid prototyping and mechanical assembly is appreciated.
● Think creatively and analytically to develop comprehensive design solutions and provide feedback to the team.
