We are seeking an energetic, focused, detail-oriented, and self-driven Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our fast-growing organization.
The Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer will be responsible for all tool activities relating to CNC 3 & 5 Axis functions and production runs. The programmer will program, develop, execute, and maintain 3-axis & 5-axis CNC programs for code to produce machined parts, tooling, and fixturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design thermoforming tooling for new product concepts using company tool standards and precise engineering practices.
• Develop, maintain, and continuously update tool design and fabrication standards to meet the company’s objectives.
• Manage all aspects of tooling projects to ensure timely delivery of tools that meet quality standards and keep the tooling cost within budget.
• Design molds, prototypes, and fixtures for thermoforming products within SolidWorks to meet customers’ needs and production schedules.
• Interact closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel to identify issues and provide solutions to product and tool design.
• Work with manufacturing to establish tooling standards, process conditions, and maintenance programs for current and future tooling.
• Proactively work towards tooling/process improvements.
• Manage time and priorities to ensure “on-time” delivery of tooling and design projects.
• Work with Quality to develop QA gages for new and existing products as needed.
• Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and implement 5S practices.
• Special projects/other duties as necessary assigned by leadership.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years of thermoform tool design experience.
• Solidworks & Mastercam (software) experience is required.
• 5 Years of work experience in 3-Axis & 5-Axis CNC programming.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Tooling, machining, and quality inspection skills required.
• Must be able to read blueprint geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and meet required deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
• Can effectively make decisions with/without the assistance of a lead or manager
• Strong attention to quality and detail.
SCHEDULE AND ENVIRONMENT OVERVIEW:
• Exempt
• Monday - Thursday: 6 AM-4:30 PM
• Work is to be performed on-site at the company location in Salt Lake City, Utah.
