Job Summary:
The Clinical Administrative Supervisor (House Supervisor) is a key member of the Patient Care Services Administration, responsible for overseeing the quality of patient care across the hospital. This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, operational management skills, and the ability to make real-time decisions to ensure the delivery of optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Oversight: Supervise and assist in the delivery of quality patient care, ensuring adherence to hospital standards and policies.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate staffing resources based on patient acuity and care requirements; manage patient placement and throughput from ED and procedural areas.
- Administrative Support: Serve as a liaison with Administration, medical staff, and leadership; handle emergency off-hours support and administrative concerns.
- Compliance and Quality: Assist with QA/QC/QI activities; ensure compliance with regulatory standards (JCAHO/DSHS/DOH/Federal).
- Emergency Response: Act as the initial leader in emergencies, including CODE BLUE, RRT, CODE GREY, CODE STROKE, CODE SEPSIS, CODE MTP, RSI, and emergent conscious sedation.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain communication with staff, leadership, risk management, and other departments to support patient care and operational efficiency.
- Morgue Management: Manage morgue operations, collaborating with eye and tissue banks, KCME, mortuaries, and families.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in EPIC, IOS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
- Ability to mentor and support staff in clinical practice.
- Knowledge of staffing guidelines and patient care standards.
