Are you a hands-on Construction Engineer with a passion for fieldwork and project management? We’re looking for a motivated professional with 1-5 years of experience to join our high-energy team. If you thrive in the fast-paced world of heavy civil construction and love being on-site where the action happens, this role is for you. This position is all about getting into the thick of things—managing daily operations, handling RFIs, reviewing specs and blueprints, ordering materials, and ensuring everything runs smoothly on the ground.
Key Responsibilities:
- Get directly involved in heavy highway, roadway, bridge, and transportation projects.
- Track daily production and keep detailed cost histories for various tasks like excavation, drainage, and stormwater management.
- Lead traffic control operations, manage incident responses, and document blast events through videography.
- Ensure strict compliance with Erosion and Sediment (E&S) control measures, coordinating with subcontractors for site stabilization and conducting inspections with conservation districts.
- Oversee the installation of storm drainage systems, working closely with pipe crews to keep projects on track.
- Prepare and manage material orders and shop drawing submittals, keeping all project documentation up to date.
- Supervise construction activities on roadway and bridge projects, ensuring everything meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in construction engineering, especially in the heavy civil sector.
- Engineer In Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction inspection and project management practices.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to safety and environmental compliance is essential.
