We are looking for an engineer to focus on process improvement and to spend 70%-80% hands on on production.
- Handle day to day problems with processes, product, equipment, and documentation.
- Participate in designing and addressing specific problems with manufacturing processes, equipment, and products.
- Responsible for implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.
- Familiar with Lean and Six Sigma practices.
- Improve processes utilizing OEE as a key metric.
- Drive cost reductions in material and labor costs.
- Acquire new equipment/processes and act as Project lead, responsible for the project to make sure costs are met, schedules are maintained and the systems function as designed.
- Generating BOM and routings in ERP system.
- Actively participate and represent Manufacturing engineering in new product designs and APQP process. Document PFMEA , Lessons learned.
- Investigate, develop, justify and compile costs and savings for new equipment/process implementation.
- Develop new processing techniques to reduce non-conformance and production costs.
- Write Standard Operating Instructions / PWI Process work instructions as required.
- Assist Sales and Project management in developing prototypes.
Minimum Requirements for Manufacturing Engineer:
Bachelor degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Problem solving and team building skills required.
2 to 5 years of experience as a manufacturing engineer
Preferred Candidates:
Experience in time and motion studies, value engineering and estimating.
Excellent understanding of APQP process
Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Quality Systems and Continuous Improvement processes
Experience with design and purchase of tooling
CAD experience (Unigraphics, AutoCAD, CATIA)
