About the Role
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for supervising the shift production crew to ensure the kilns, mills and auxiliary equipment are being operated safely and efficiently in order to produce a quality product.
- Responsible for following company Standard Operating Practices for plant operations.
- Ensure all employees and contractors in the plant work in a safe manner, which is consistent with company work rules and MSHA standards.
- Ensure the plant is run in a manner, which will avoid serious damage to equipment.
- Must run the plant in compliance with environmental regulations and ensure that product is manufactured to company standards.
- Ensure that equipment operating time and through put is maximized in a manner that is consistent with the company’s practices and policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required; 2-year associate degree preferred
- 2 years supervisory experience
- 5 years experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience supervising in a union environment is preferred
- Control room or lab experience is preferred
- Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24/7 plant operations
- Experience working in the cement, lime or aggregate industry is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
