We are looking for a UNIX System Administrator for our client in Jacksonville, Florida. We are offering a hybrid working model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility.
Overview
As a Unix system administrator of the Support Team, you will provide Unix support for our global estate. This includes operational support, system maintenance (patching) and automation (scripting). You will support hardware from HP and Oracle, including Oracle Exadata. Our client is investing heavily in technology, which means we are investing in you. What You’ll Do
- Work in a global team in a follow-the-sun model. Some out-of-hours and weekend work will be required to comply with applicable change windows.
- Work with other infrastructure teams on solving issues
- Work closely with our engineering team and other vendors
- Interface with IT and business clients at all levels of the organization
Skills You’ll Need
- 6+ years of experience with Linux (OEL and RHEL) and Unix (Solaris)
- Strong skills in TCP/IP Networking & advanced systems tuning, network topology and firewalled environments
- Strong core experience with system administration: upgrades, patching and configuration management, performance management, troubleshooting, analysis, and capacity planning.
- Full understanding of the principles of routing, client/server programming, the design of consistent network-wide file system layout, Ethernet, bonding, PCIe Technologies
- Experience with Veritas and EMC storage products
- Shell and Perl scripting skills
