A Typical Day Might Include:
- Responsible for leading/producing technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models that meet our specifications and client needs.
- Perform and/or evaluate all appropriate calculations (e.g. distribution panel loading, short circuit, voltage drop, conduit & conductor size, and cable tray fill) required for the electrical design packages and verify all applicable codes have been incorporated.
- Develops Basis of Design, one-line drawings, panel schedules, Equipment data sheets, Equipment/Construction specifications, and Sequence of Operations for Electrical systems.
- Will work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems.
- Applies standard design techniques and procedures and exercising judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications to design concepts. Ensure quality control by complying with company and team design and CAD standards.
- Coordinate needs, designs, and develop an understanding with other design disciplines (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.) for design package needs.
- Effectively lead, direct, and mentor associate engineers and designers, with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
- Perform field verifications / site walks to identify, verify, resolve, and incorporate solutions into design packages. May troubleshoot design problems in the field during construction.
Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is required.
- 10+ years experience in designing Medium and Low Voltage power distribution for normal, emergency, uninterruptible power distribution systems, and lighting systems and controls for the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, high-tech industrial, or technically related industries.
- Experience working with AutoCAD & Revit is required. Experience with Navisworks, EasyPower and/or other similar programs is a plus.
- Professional knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), as well as working knowledge of the International Building Code, International Fire Code, and NFPA guidelines.
- The ability to interface with customers to define scope of work and basis of design.
- Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
