The Role:
We are seeking a director of engineering that has strong background in management of engineers. Renewables is not required, but you will be managing a team of engineers so an electrical engineering background is needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of engineers
- Set objectives, review performance, meet with team members
- Train engineers
- Provide engineering and/or technical input and direction relevant to site evaluation and characterization, permitting, Power Purchase Agreements, Interconnection Agreements, financial modeling, and related project development tasks.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
- Maintain constant communication with key members of Sales and other departments as needed to ensure optimal system design, including but not limited to, workload reporting for use in forecasting and scheduling.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Electrical Engineering degree
- PE license is a plus
- Minimum 7 years of solar or relatable engineering experience
- Ability to work within a team as well as mentor and manage other team members
- Ability to work on site in Maryland
