RJE has an opening for a designer for our Indianapolis office. As a designer, your responsibility
will be to provide design and front‐end support for a variety of project scopes and client needs.
This may include large scale projects and specific high‐profile customers.
Reports to: Design Director
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Interior Design
- 3-5 Years of design industry experience
- Previous design experience related to the commercial furniture industry, preferred but not required
- Preferred: AutoCAD
- Preferred: CET
- Preferred: CAP 20/20
- Proficient with: Microsoft Office suite of products
- Critical/creative problem-solving skills
- Self-starter that can manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Able to manage fast-paced deadlines
- Able to work well within a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities
- Understand building codes and other industry standards
- Applicants must be able to work onsite at RJE (downtown Indianapolis)
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Client fact finding process and programming to determine their needs and scope of services
- Creating design presentations to support furniture typical specifications, both in person and virtually
- Able to conduct live design sessions
- Develop accurate furniture floorplan, specifications, and finish package for approval
- Assists with bid or proposal responses by assembling collateral materials, specifications, and other
- Properly track revisions and consistently identify the changes with internal team
- Completes accurate, on-time, order ready final specifications and drawings
- Provide installation packets and review with project management team
- Conducts field measurements
- Continuing education with team training and staying up to date on design trends
