For over 75 years, our client has been a pioneer in developing and building specialized, high-precision next-generation technologies. As a Field Service Engineer, you will install and support leading edge equipment that pushes the technology boundaries.
Working primarily on-site for a specific customer, the field service engineer plans and coordinates installation of equipment, investigates and resolves technical issues. International travel for training is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
- Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
- Analyze and review inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
- Coordinate problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
- Provide on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Maintain records of performance reports.
- Analyze reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design,
- production, service, and maintenance processes, and recommend modifications to eliminate future problems.
- Be the communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure effective service is provided to the customer.
- Develop and conduct training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrate skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
Key Qualifications:
- Four-year college degree related to the electro-mechanical skills required to perform the job plus five years of related work experience; or an AA degree related to the electro-mechanical skills required to perform the job plus eight years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Semiconductor process engineering experience preferred.
- Strong technical and analytical skills; ability to recommend solutions to technical problems.
- Self-starter: highly motivated to deliver results and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experienced in managing difficult customer situations.
- Have a valid driver’s license.
- Physical requirements include regularly lifting and /or moving up to 10 pounds, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Must have the ability to stand for four to eight hours per day and to travel by car and/or airplane to worksites.
