Position: Librarian (Contract)
Location: Fremont, CA 94538, United States
Schedule: Full-time (40h weekly)
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the corporate engineering library.
- Assist patrons (company employees) with information retrieval, conduct reference interviews, and offer on-demand training on library resources.
- Interface with vendors and publishers to ensure timely subscription modifications and additions based on patron demand.
- Maintain the library website's organizational framework and resolve technical issues related to library content and platforms.
- Stay updated on developments in information services, recommending new acquisitions as necessary to meet evolving company needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of library strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Provide library support for company initiatives and projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in EBSCO, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Experience with ILS, OPAC, and related systems.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Familiarity with OpenAthens or Shibboleth single sign-on software.
- Experience collaborating and negotiating with publishers and information services vendors.
- Strong self-leadership skills, strategic thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent people and presentation skills.
- Semiconductor or tech industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in hard sciences or engineering.
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
Salary Range: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour based on the skillset and experience.
