The Nursing Director is responsible for ongoing leadership and operations the Procedural Sedation clinical department and for nursing care, safety, and quality. The Nursing Director uses sound human resource and financial management principles and techniques to guide the provision of nursing services to patients and families. The Nursing Director supports comprehensive patient and family services through effective participation with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership for nursing staff and the interdisciplinary patient care team to support high quality care of patients and families.
- Assures the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high-quality patient and family care.
- Leads the application of new knowledge and innovation to advance improvements at the department and organizational level.
- Utilizes financial data to effectively manage the department operating budget, plan capital expenditures, and formulate a business plan for new programs or services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree BSN required and 5-7 years experience Clinical nursing experience and progressive experience in leadership roles. and Master's Degree in nursing needs to be acquired within 3-5 years.
- One of the following: Licensed RN - MO, Registered Nurse Multistate License Missouri required upon hire
- One of the following: Licensed RN - Kansas, Registered Nurse Multistate License Kansas required upon hire
- Refer to Nursing and Advanced Practice Provider Licensure and Certification policy for required Life Support Certifications Required Upon Hire
- Specialty Certification required upon hire

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
