About the Role
As a Director of Health Data, you will help lead the evolution of our products and technologies that provide access to convenient and effective direct-to-patient healthcare. You will lead a team of engineers building our Health Data platform, which plays a critical role in our strategy by collecting, storing, and providing secure access to patient health data, as well as building services to support clinical decisions such as clinical alerting.
Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing engineering team to build scalable services critical to our platform.
- Ensure that health data APIs are easily discoverable and usable by other engineering teams.
- Develop team members and support their career growth through regular feedback and coaching.
- Keep the team motivated, engaged, and effectively collaborating with the broader organization.
- Contribute to the development and health of the larger engineering organization, including culture, innovation, and recruiting.
Required Skills
- Proven track record of building high-performing, healthy, and sustainable teams that have tackled complex technical and organizational challenges.
- Strong ability to build partnerships across the organization.
- Passion for coaching and developing a diverse team of engineers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity and fast-paced environments, with a drive to seek clarity for yourself and your team.
Preferred Skills
- 8+ years of experience in a technical leadership role delivering impactful systems.
- Experience with health data, Bioinformatics, and/or the Healthcare industry.
- Experience building interfaces and APIs for teams to publish and query time-series data.
- Familiarity with building and maintaining AI/ML models, LLM, and NLP systems strongly desired.
- Work experience with start-ups is strongly desired.
Pay range and compensation package
This position offers a highly competitive pay package. When determining compensation, we consider several factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, which may cause compensation to vary.
