Job Summary and Responsibilities:
The Director of Nursing ensures high-quality, patient-centered care by overseeing clinical departments, managing staffing, and handling budgeting and planning. This role involves fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration, and supporting the development and implementation of strategies and policies aligned with facility objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of nursing care
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the Administrator
- Ensure daily operations comply with clinical practice standards and center policies
- Manage staffing needs, including scheduling and coverage for breaks and emergencies
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care
- Ensure materials and resources are prepared in advance for each case
- Facilitate smooth transitions between surgical procedures
- Provide leadership through delegation, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- At least 5 years of direct RN experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center
- At least 3 years of clinical supervisory experience
- Experience in OR or PACU preferred
- Active RN license as required by state
- Valid BCLS certification (online certification not accepted)
- ACLS and PALS certifications as required
- CNOR certification preferred
