Position Summary
Claim Advocates provide support for our sales operations in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, claim advocacy, policy interpretation, policy creation and modification, and building relationships with key markets and retail partners. Claims is a dynamic position that requires flexibility and urgency combined with strong technical capabilities and a servant leadership attitude. As a member of the Group Support Team (GST), this position supports Amwins’ Head of Claims in various capacities.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Provide advocacy as needed, including reviewing ROR/Disclaimer letters, completing an analysis on the coverage position, and advocating appropriately for the correct position.
- Document daily advocacy efforts.
- Participates in the development of strategic planning based on trends derived from daily advocacy efforts.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships across Amwins business units to effectively advise on claims topics.
- Participates in claim audits and reviews as needed.
- Participate in and possibly present at industry conferences to drive Amwins brand awareness.
- Build strong working relationships with retailers and markets to enable more effective interactions on issues.
- Support sales with policy and endorsement creation on an as-needed basis.
- Monitor legal and legislative outcomes and changes and communicate the impacts to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years combined experience in a carrier claim department or TPA handling Property claims, including coverage analysis and decision-making.
- E&S claim background strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze Property line coverages.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with all levels of the firm.
