Job Title: Senior Compliance Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:
The Compliance Manager reports to the National Compliance Director with additional supervision by Legal and plays an integral role in ensuring ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment-related law to support the development of compliance programs, policies, reporting and practices for the organization. Focus is on Human Resources laws.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor new federal, state, and local employment-related laws, regulations, and codes, and provide Legal and HR with regular updates regarding new legislation and rulemaking.
- Review and assess current HR compliance practices with relevant federal, state, and local employment-related laws, regulations, and codes.
- Develop and perform regularly scheduled internal assessments and present data-driven findings to company stakeholders, including Legal and HR.
- Assist HR and Legal in developing action plans for remediation and implementation of new compliance requirements.
- Research regulatory changes and analyze new or revised employment laws against current Trulieve policies to determine impact on company.
- Respond to external requests for compliance-related data, including information requests from federal and state agencies.
- Research, compile, and analyze data for use in litigation or agency proceedings.
- Other related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
At least three (3) years' experience in compliance including experience in independent auditing for a multi-state employer.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree/Master's Degree in or equivalent in Public Policy or related field (business, technology, or liberal arts degrees combined with relevant experience are also acceptable).
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with state federal employment laws, regulations, and agencies
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and review significant amounts of data while working within multiple systems
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and collaborative skills
- Ability to research, understand and communicate complex and sometimes cumbersome employment regulations
- Superb analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative and supportive mindset; ability to cater to various audiences at multiple levels within the organization
- Working understanding of attorney-client privilege; understanding of how to handle sensitive information
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
- Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Power BI)
- Smartsheets or similar project management tools
- Human Resources Information Systems (SuccessFactors or similar)
- Electronic research platforms (e.g., Thomson Reuters Practical Law, etc.)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sit or stand at desk and view computer monitor for several hours at a time each day.
- Type or otherwise input text in computer and manipulate mouse or similar adaptive device.
- Speak clearly on telephone, in remote meetings and in person so listeners can understand.
- Understand the speech of another person on telephone, in remote meetings and in person
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Position is on-site at Scottsdale HQ.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full time – 40+ hours per week, Monday-Friday (variable hours beginning in Eastern Time Zone through Pacific Time Zone), occasional evenings or weekends when needed.
