Job Summary
Our client near Springfield, MA has a great 2-year contract opportunity for a Construction Supervisor to join their team! Candidates will need to have significant work experience within an industrial setting working to construct buildings, implement new electrical systems, and piping/pipe supports. The role of this job will mainly be to supervise the construction activities at our client's LNG facilities. This includes reviewing technical documents, monitoring budgets/schedules, and promoting safe work practices. A Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required for this position. Responsibilities
- Take proactive measures to ensure personnel safety, actively participate in weekly safety meetings, and adhere to all relevant standards, rules, and regulations. Directly communicate any safety concerns to contractors.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, identify any discrepancies or conflicts in the documents or on-site, and document observations as construction progresses.
- Maintain communication with the project team regarding all aspects of construction activities.
- Facilitate coordination between the plant operator and contractor to ensure smooth work activities.
- Ensure work adheres to company standards and methods, monitor design compliance, and promote productivity.
- Oversee current and upcoming activities to optimize productivity, control costs, and meet or exceed quality standards.
- Conduct measurements to verify material quantities and dimensions against construction drawings.
- Monitor contractor activities to assess construction techniques related to quality, safety, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency.
- Track and report on site activities, including cost overruns, design deviations, change orders, schedule issues, and stakeholder concerns.
- Evaluate site activities to reduce waste, recommend corrective actions, and ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
- Ensure construction and assembly activities meet contract requirements.
- Record quantities of materials and services used on-site and forecast remaining needs to complete the project.
- Identify and address non-conforming work during construction with the contractor.
- Assist management in defining punch-lists and identifying remaining tasks to complete.
- Provide insights based on lessons learned to help improve future projects.
- Attend meetings as requested by the management team.
