About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Equity Analyst to join our team. This role is remote but requires travel to Atlanta once a month. As a Senior Equity Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth equity research with a focus on fundamental analysis to support our long/short equity strategy. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in equity research, with a strong understanding of both buy-side and sell-side environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive fundamental analysis of individual equities across various sectors to identify investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to forecast company performance and assess valuation.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors.
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers to provide actionable investment recommendations, including long and short positions.
- Monitor and evaluate current positions, providing timely updates and adjustments based on market movements.
- Attend company management meetings, industry conferences, and relevant events to gather insights and enhance research capabilities.
- Produce high-quality written research reports, presentations, and investment memos.
- Stay up-to-date with market developments and industry trends, providing strategic input into portfolio construction and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an equity analyst, with a focus on fundamental research.
- Strong background in long/short equity strategies with a proven track record of making successful investment recommendations.
- Experience in developing and maintaining complex financial models, including valuation techniques such as DCF, comparable companies analysis, and precedent transactions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present investment ideas clearly and concisely.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining close collaboration with the team.
- Willingness to travel to Atlanta once a month for team meetings, strategy discussions, and other key events.
- CFA designation or progress towards CFA preferred but not required.
