A&B Engineering and Land Surveying P.C. is seeking a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor for our Queens, New York office. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing a survey group and ensuring the accuracy of all draftsmen's work concerning record data and field investigation. Responsibilities include contract administration, project management, coordination of survey crews, preparation of plats and legal descriptions, and experience in performing all aspects of land surveying, including boundary surveys, topographical surveys, and construction staking.
Licensed Professional Land Surveyor – Requirements/Job Qualifications
- The candidate should be able to perform all aspects of land surveying from start to finish, including checking field data brought back to the office.
- Thorough knowledge and experience in preparing and completing surveys for land development projects is required. The candidate should also be able to provide training to less experienced staff.
- A valid license is a must.
- Experience with various land surveying equipment is necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in recovering survey control and documentation, construction layout, obtaining invert and subsurface utility information, and photo documentation of the project area.
- Process "field to finish" point data and draft surveys to Langan CAD standards.
- Recommend new approaches and ideas to continuously improve efficiency and services performed.
- Prepare construction stake-out computations for field crew.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Provide leadership and guidance to internal and field staff to ensure surveys are conducted efficiently by identifying known survey reference points and significant features in the survey area and reviewing survey data to ensure accuracy.
- Experience in project management, proposal preparation, contract administration, billing, and survey cost estimates.
- Preparation of boundary surveys, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule project work tasks for multiple projects.
- Monitor and oversee project budgets.
- Establish project teams.
- Administer and oversee survey manpower and activities.
- Communicate and build client relationships.
