NYC based nonprofit affordable housing owner/developer/operator is seeking a Managing Director of Property Management to join their leadership team. In this role the MD of Property Management will oversee Property Management operations, compliance, capital planning and asset management, working closely with external partners, investors, government agencies and other executives within the organization.
The MD, Property Management will lead a large team, and will be responsible for financial management and compliance, developing strategy and process to align the assets with the goals of the company. The MD, Property Management will have extensive experience in all aspects of affordable housing operations and compliance, ideally coming in with established relationships with elected officials and agencies, and will be a people-centric leader.

- Capability of leading a large team and working collaboratively with different departments in a vertically integrated setting.
- Broad knowledge and experience in housing finance, property management and compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to affordable housing.
- Ability to analyze and track financials and reserves to meet short and long-term requirements.
- Experience overseeing compliance and reporting functions.
- Deep understanding of New York building code, rent regulations, LIHTC and HUD affordable housing programs, finance opportunities, laws, and regulations.
- Budgeting, financial reporting and financial analysis.
- Understanding of policy and practices to improve organizational efficiency.
- Demonstrated capacity for preparing, analyzing, and working with proformas, budgets and management reports.
- History of working with public agency administrators, elected officials and corporate executives.
Requirements
- 10+ years' experience in senior affordable property or asset management positions.
- 5+ years' experience as a people manager, developing and implementing policies and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in real estate, accounting or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of real estate finance and legal requirements for affordable housing in New York City.
- Extensive experience working with HUD, HPD, DOB, FDNY and other agencies.
- Strong knowledge of property management software - OneSite, Yardi etc.
