Position Overview: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for administering direct resident care and performing any other duties deemed necessary to ensure optimal resident care. Works under direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
- Provides all direct Activities of Daily Living (ADL) care for residents.
- Always demonstrates an awareness and understanding of residents' needs and comfort and safety.
- Performs I&Os; checks vital signs and weight, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
- Completes daily documentation in residents' health records as directed
- Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
- Instills confidence in residents by maintaining a neat appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
- With specialized training and written approval, may perform additional and specialized tasks pertinent to the assigned area.
- Communicates resident care data, observations, and information to other healthcare team members.
- Uses downtime effectively to make rounds, stock, clean or perform other appropriate actions within the scope of responsibility.
- Safely practices resident care according to policies, procedures, and established practices.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform resident care in a calm, efficient, and professional manner.
- Functions as a team member, demonstrating the initiative to assist team members in completing assignments.
- Completes unit support duties as assigned by unit nurse and/or DON
Requirements: To qualify for this position, candidates must have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High school graduate preferred.
- Current Montana CNA License.
- Previous CNA experience with acceptable references preferred.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
