Lab Technician
Location: Springdale, PA
Shift: M-F, 8AM to 4:30PM
Pay: $20/HR
Duration: 6 Month Contract to Direct Hire
The role involves operating a wood treatment pilot plant, managing feedstock and anode production, and conducting tests on anodes. The position also includes preparing samples, analyzing them using various instruments, and assisting in developing new analytical methods. Additionally, the role provides technical support to plants and performs lab analyses following ASTM and AWPA test procedures for customers and internal facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or 5+ years of experience in an industrial chemical laboratory.
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience,
- Proficient in computer skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and take on challenges
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the wood treatment pilot plant.
- Prepare feedstock and manage the anode production pilot plant.
- Conduct tests on anodes and interpret the results.
- Prepare samples and analyze them using various analytical instruments.
- Assist in developing new analytical methods.
- Provide technical information, support, and assistance to plants.
- Perform lab analyses following ASTM and AWPA test procedures for customers, wood treating plants, and coal distillation facilities.
