In this on-site role, you’ll be a vital member of our HR team, creating a positive work environment, driving employee engagement, and supporting performance management initiatives.
Employee Relations (40%)In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for managing and resolving employee relations issues, from disciplinary actions to grievances and working conditions. Your ability to prepare thorough investigative reports and recommend fair and effective disciplinary actions will be key in maintaining a respectful and productive workplace.
Employee Engagement (25%)On the employee engagement front, you’ll work alongside Smithville’s leaders to enhance the overall employee experience. This means implementing strategies to improve morale and boost engagement. You’ll be instrumental in creating and maintaining a two-way communication strategy, ensuring that our employees feel heard and valued.
Performance Management (25%)When it comes to performance management, you’ll ensure that our goals are strategically aligned with the business’s priorities. You’ll coach and support leaders in providing constructive feedback and ensure that performance evaluations are completed on time and documented properly.
Labor Relations (10%)Additionally, you’ll collaborate with legal counsel and company leadership in labor relations, especially during negotiations with employee and labor groups, ensuring compliance with negotiated agreements.

Your Qualifications- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in an HR generalist or business partner role, with 2-3 years of experience with employee relations
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, organizational behavior, human resources, or labor relations (preferred)
- Preferred HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) or the willingness to obtain it within 12 months
- Strong ability to handle sensitive information while upholding airtight confidentiality
- A knack for balancing employee needs with business priorities
- The ability to transform research into actionable recommendations
- Meticulous attention to detail, process-driven thinking, and a customer-centric mindset
- Stellar written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in employment law and an understanding of its nuances
- A natural team player with top-tier interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
- Adeptness with HRIS systems (bonus points for ADP expertise) and Microsoft Office Suite
- A proactive self-starter who thrives on initiative and resourcefulness
- Proven capacity to balance multiple projects and tasks seamlessly
- Problem-solver with experience making sound decisions in dynamic environments

- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
