Purpose of Job:
Under limited supervision, the SAP Solution Architect is responsible is to ensure that solutions, both within and outside of SAP, are done with long term strategy and supportability for our business platform. Works with the business partner organization and the business to evaluate business requirements and design solutions according to the short term and long term needs of the organization
Job Components:
- Provides technical and architectural leadership and manages the overall solution design for the various SAP and legacy systems to be implemented and integrated as part of a large technical and business transformation.
- Spearheads decision-making for all SAP technology related workstreams.
- Collaborates with consultants and vendors to optimize S/4 HANA, EWM, TM, IBP, C/4 suite, EWM, EDI, and other related business systems to ensure expected performance and best practices.
- Works with system integrator(s) to define and/or review and develop all aspects of the SAP architectural design and integration implementation.
- Ability to roll-up the sleeves and provide very active solution guidance, internal quality check of the SAP program and be a go-to thought leader on many technical aspects of the deployment.
- Owns, leads, manages, and is ultimately responsible for all SAP architecture related workstreams, e.g., infrastructure/cloud, integration of the SAP platforms as well as edge solutions and legacy systems, security, mobility, analytics, etc.
- Possess a solid understanding of SAP product offering and its interoperability with other components as well as high level understanding of interface technology.
- Reduces the overall project risk by carefully mapping out solutions, share implementation best practices, and recommend solution alternatives.
- Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop strong relationships.
- Builds and maintains active, collaborative relationships with all levels of leadership across key business stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills with business and technical groups
- Identifies and assesses opportunities and risks, including alignment to strategic outcomes, execution capabilities, and operational and integration synergies and issues.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Business Administration, Computer Science, or another relevant field required.
- 10+ years of broad-based (infrastructure, application, delivery, etc.) SAP applications deployment and management experience in large enterprises
- SAP Ecosystem - Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP C/4HANA, and SAP Digital Supply Chain.
- Must demonstrate a broad depth of knowledge in cross-functional areas such as digital sales and marketing, digital supply chain, finance, sales and distribution, warehousing and transportation management, etc.
Preferred:
- Successfully developed and implemented applications in new SAP HANA architecture environments
- Significant experience & knowledge in new computing application & technology architectures, ideally in SAP HANA-based solutions (S/4, C/4, IBP, TM, WM, etc.)
- Must have demonstrated success in application design and delivery.
- Experience in business capability modeling and process management and engineering
- Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
- Strong communication skills, including with employees, clients, senior management and vendors.
- Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a virtual organization.
- Excellent presentation skills including the ability to translate strategy and technology into business terms.
