WHAT YOU WILL DO
Flexware’s Automation Team does a variety of projects for manufacturing clients. Our expertise spans many industries including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Food and Beverage, Discrete, Steel, Municipalities, and several others. As an Automation Engineer, you will assist clients in a variety of projects and work with many different technical tools. We are looking for future Flexdogs that want to serve our customers and enjoy solving technical challenges that will improve our clients manufacturing processes.
As a Systems Integrator, we are always looking for talented engineers that can assist our clients, so if you are interested in working with SOME or ALL of the following control layer systems, please apply! We are looking for several years of experience to Senior level automation engineers.
- Program and install PLC’s including but not limited to ControlLogix and Siemens processors
- Program and install HMI’s including but not limited to FactoryTalk View ME or SE, Wonderware InTouch, Ignition, and others
- Program and install VFD’s including but not limited to PowerFlex, Schneider, ABB, and other
- Work with networking components such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet
- Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance.
- Assist and/or create a functional description of the automation solution such as the control scheme, alarms, HMI, reports, and others.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, test, repair, and improve sensing, measurements, and actuation devices
- Lead medium and/or large projects from inception to conclusion
- Perform other duties or work with other technologies as necessary

WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE DONE BEFORE
Flexdogs are a rare breed of engineers. They come from varied backgrounds but typically have some of the following traits
- Received a technical Bachelor’s degree such as computer technology, computer systems technology, information systems, or similar technical degree.
- Experience designing, troubleshooting, and programming PLC’s; ideally in an industrial or manufacturing environment such as:
- RSLogix500, RSLogix5000/Studio5000
- Siemens Step7, Siemens TIA Portal
- Or a multitude of other PLC’s
- Designed, created, and programmed HMI screens in Wonderware InTouch, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, Ignition, or others
- Worked with networking components
- Worked with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s)
