SUMMARY:
The Project Manager, NPD (New Product Development) leads and manages cross-functional teams of 3-9 subject matter experts from various life sciences fields for scientific and IVD instrumentation and associated consumable/cartridge product development projects. These teams typically consist of Application experts, service, production, quality, legal, IP, engineers, and various other specialists in a variety of disciplines such as systems fluidics/microfluidics, optics, engineering, firmware and software engineering, industrial design, and biochemistry/molecular biology.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages development projects in close collaboration with the customers or product management and ensures customer-focused products and solutions.
Hands-on technical management
Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to SME team members
Contributing to and approving system architecture and designs
Acting as the primary point of contact for clients
Delivering innovative content in a manner that meets or exceeds our client's expectations
Ensuring each project is successfully executed within overall project constraints, paying specific detail to project scheduling and budgetary details
Assist with supporting staff
REQUIREMENTS:
BSc., MSc., or equivalent in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering is preferred.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of one or more biotech/life science fields and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience leading and managing interdisciplinary teams to develop complex instrumentation and consumables/cartridges. It is also highly desirable for candidates to have 5 or more years of direct hands-on engineering experience with complex instrumentation
Excellent scientific and engineering knowledge
Systems engineering experience, system architecture development, and risk analysis experience
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Preferred to have experience working with outside clients and customers
Proven ability to interact with key stakeholders to understand project scope and product requirements as well as resolve conflicts
Extensive experience with a majority of the following software tools: MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
Additional Credentials:
