The Senior EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting the EHS Manager in administering and advancing the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within the organization. This role includes managing day-to-day EHS activities, developing and implementing safety procedures, and ensuring the company’s compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, particularly OSHA standards.
Key responsibilities involve creating and maintaining standard operating procedures for operational, maintenance, and quality functions to enhance EHS processes. The Coordinator also conducts internal audits, participates in incident investigations to identify root causes, and monitors corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Additionally, the role includes maintaining up-to-date safety records, certifying Emergency Responders, and conducting regular safety training and meetings for employees.
The position requires effective communication and collaboration with various departments, ensuring that safety practices are consistently enforced across all company facilities. The Senior EHS Coordinator must also manage relationships with contractors and vendors, provide safety support to multiple facilities, and assist in the implementation of hazardous waste management programs.
The role demands a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or GMP environment, strong decision-making abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with EHS certifications or the ability to obtain them. Familiarity with Corrective Action/Preventive Action Programs (CAPA) and hazardous waste management is also desirable.
