We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join our small molecule structural biology and biophysics efforts within our department of Biotherapeutic and Medicinal Sciences. The successful candidate will be a part of a fast-paced and innovative environment actively pursuing unmet medical needs in the neuroscience space. The primary focus of this role is to execute a variety of biophysical assays to help accelerate our drug discovery efforts from exploratory through lead identification and optimization.
The successful candidate will:
• Execute surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis for small molecules binding to protein and/or protein-protein interactions.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to ensure project team goals and deliverables are met.
• Communicate effectively and present results in cross-functional team meetings
• Troubleshoot and solve scientific problems with minimal supervision.
• Be highly organized and have an ability to support several projects at a time.
• Independently operate and maintain specialized SPR lab equipment.
Qualifications: B.S., M.S. or Ph. D. in Biophysics, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline and +2 years of relevant experience in an industrial or academic lab. Prior experience with biophysical assay methods (especially SPR, and others such as ITC, DSF, and MST). Must be a great team player with strong communication skills.
