This role is for the CSI team (continuous service improvement) that finds chronic problems and resolves through service desk tickets. So far, this group has reduced issues by 50% and saved 25k phonecalls.
Looking for 5+ yrs of experience with the following:
- Splunk development (SPL)
- Windows OS Engineering
- Microsoft Configuration Manager
- Current programming languages and capabilities i.e. Python, Groovy, etc.
- Monitoring and reporting systems for a large enterprise environment
- Windows Scripting tools (PowerShell)
- Flexera Admin Studio
Nice to have: experience with Splunk infrastructure administration
Job Description:
- This contractor will perform monitoring for the continuous service improvement team
- Strong expertise and experience with Splunk development (SPL) and creation of user-accessible custom dashboards
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating system and key monitoring and management capabilities provided by the operating system that are accessible to advanced monitoring tools (including Splunk)
- 3+ years' experience with monitoring and reporting systems for a large enterprise environment
- 3+ years' experience with effective operational scripting and improvement
- Working knowledge of current programming languages and capabilities include Python, Groovy, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the fundamentals of networking, databases and applications and their interdependencies in the context of monitoring
- Working knowledge of Splunk infrastructure architecture (experience with Splujnk infrastructure administration would be a plus)
- Understanding of IT operational processes (e.g. ITIL concepts)
- General understanding of Large Data Sets
- Understanding of Perl, Python, Windows Batch, VBScript, or vSphere PowerCli
- Understanding of DNS and BIND support
- Understanding of IPSEC VPNs and NAT
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
