Job Title: AOG Buyer

Reports To: Senior Manager of Materials
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Expedites purchases and logistics for AOG – Aircraft on Ground materials requirements to keep the aircraft on time. Individual works in coordination with Maintenance Control, On-Site Maintenance Representative and the Director of Materials and Materials Supervisor.
Essential Functions:
- Sources aircraft parts and services, either through company owned aircraft parts or on the market, to support AOG aircraft around the world.
- Responsible for the procurement and distribution of aircraft materials, parts, equipment, and supplies.
- Oversees the shipping, forwarding, and routing of AOG parts.
- Works with maintenance control and onsite technicians to ensure the correct parts are being sourced and supplied in a timely manner for AOG aircraft.
- Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, and shipping notices.
- Continuous follow-up to ensure supplier and delivery commitments are met.
- Communicates updates through reports with various departments.
- Provides material planning recommendations to inventory management.
- Ensures proper communication is provided for all AOG parts movements.
- Works DMI – Deferred Maintenance Item parts, when possible, to support on-time performance.
- Proactively reviews stocking and usage levels.
- Prepares reports and reviews summary invoices for accuracy to correct discrepancies and ensures payment terms are met.
- Ensures that all company policies/procedures per the GMM and FAA Regulations are adhered.
- Ensures all materials procured meet National Airlines and FAA quality standards.
- Alerts management to any irregularities of material requisitions and vendor improprieties.
- Updates part catalog to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Aviation materials and inventory experience.
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- May be asked to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a record that meets our company’s insurance standards.
- Must be well groomed and maintain a professional appearance.
- Regular attendance and punctuality are required.
- Must have a positive attitude.
- Must pass a background check which includes pre-employment drug test, finger printing, and criminal history records check (CHRC).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to use technical manuals, good mechanical aptitude and solve problems effectively.
- Computer skills in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, and other Office programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player with strong work ethics.
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Work Environment:
- Office/Stockroom
- Work shifts may vary – must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Effort:
Heavy physical activity is required by handling objects up to 70 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (Medium to Heavy).
