Piping Designer- Mid Level
Located in CDI Engineering Center in SW Houston
Direct position offering competitive pay, benefits, 401K, paid time off and more HYBRID Work schedule.
Ideal candidate will have approx. 7 years experience with 5 years of experience as a Piping Designer on medium and large multi-discipline projects utilizing 3D software to produce deliverables. MUST be able to perform P&ID Walk-downs with minimal supervision.
Summary:
Performs routine and moderately difficult design assignments, which require knowledge and skill in piping basic drafting techniques, procedures, and knowledge of certain industry standards under minimum supervision. Assignments are designed to further develop the incumbent’s job knowledge and abilities. Individual must act as a professional in all interactions with team personnel and clients.
Qualifications:
Required: 7 years, field experience, experience working in the refining/petrochemical industry(s) preferred. 5 years of experience as Piping Designer on medium and large multi-discipline projects utilizing 3D software to produce all deliverables.
Preferred: 10 years of technical work experience. As an alternative, a minimum of three years of education in an associate or bachelor’s degree program for the relevant discipline and six years of experience. Experience based multiple projects utilizing 3D software to produce all deliverables.
- Software: AutoCAD, Cadworks, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks, LFM, Recap.
- TWIC Card and/or ability to obtain.
- Previous in plant experience a must.
- Ability to work a hybrid work schedule.
- Must be proficient with Autocad/Cadworx/NavisWorks and RECAP
- Plant Site Position: Site walk downs required as needed
Required: HS Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Associate degree in Engineering Graphics/Drafting or equivalent with basic drafting courses training from vo-tech or other applicable program.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit; climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision depth perception, and ability to focus. Employee must be able to climb ladders as typically found in petrochemical facilities.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to travel to client job-sites, usually involving heavy industrial (chemical) production facilities and access all areas of the facility. Therefore, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and the risk of electric shock. The noise level in work place can be loud to moderate depending on assignment. Respirator fit testing may be required.
