Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled BIM (Building Information Modeling) Specialist with strong software development capabilities and expertise in Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) technologies. The ideal candidate will combine advanced programming skills with a deep understanding of BIM practices and cutting-edge AR/MR applications in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex BIM models using industry-standard software
- Design and implement custom software solutions to integrate AR and MR technologies into BIM workflows
- Create immersive AR/MR experiences for design visualization and construction planning
- Develop APIs and plugins to enhance BIM software capabilities and interoperability
- Implement data pipelines for seamless integration between BIM models and AR/MR applications
- Collaborate with project teams to create and deploy AR/MR solutions for on-site construction guidance
- Optimize performance of BIM and AR/MR applications
- Train team members on BIM best practices, custom software tools, and AR/MR integration
- Stay current with emerging technologies in BIM, AR, MR, and software development
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- 3+ years of experience in BIM modeling and coordination
- Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, ArchiCAD, Navisworks)
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, C++, Python, or Java
- Experience with AR/MR development platforms (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, ARKit, ARCore)
- Familiarity with 3D modeling and rendering software
- Knowledge of software design patterns and best practices
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Strong understanding of AEC industry processes and standards
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Certifications in BIM and/or AR/MR technologies
- Experience with cloud-based BIM collaboration platforms
- Knowledge of machine learning and computer vision techniques
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Contributions to open-source projects related to BIM or AR/MR
- Experience with database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
